Your privacy, explained
This page is for you — not your grown-up. It explains what HabitQuest remembers about you.
Grown-ups: this is the child-friendly version. The full policy is here.
What is HabitQuest?
HabitQuest is an app that gives you a quest to do every day. Sometimes it's about food. Sometimes it's about moving around. You get to choose what you try.
What do we remember about you?
To make your quests fit you, we remember a few things:
- Your first name, or the nickname you picked
- How old you are
- Which foods you like and which ones you don't
- Which quests you've finished
- Which Habit Cat you chose
That's it. That's the whole list.
Things we never do
- We never weigh you. We don't know how much you weigh and we never want to know.
- We never say anything about your body. Not your size, not your shape. Never.
- We don't know where you are. The app can't see your location.
- We can't see your photos. Or your messages, or anything else on your device.
- You can't message anyone. No strangers can talk to you in HabitQuest. That's on purpose, to keep you safe.
What can your grown-up see?
Your parent or carer looks after your account, so they can see:
- Which quests you've finished
- Which foods you've tried
- How you're getting on generally
But there are some things they cannot see. When we ask you questions about how you feel about food, your answers are private. Your grown-up doesn't see those. That way you can answer honestly.
Is there anything you have to do?
No. You never have to finish a quest. You never have to try a food. If you don't want to do something, just don't do it — nothing bad happens and nobody tells you off.
Can you change your mind?
Yes, always. If you don't want HabitQuest to remember something, tell your grown-up and they can change it or delete it. If you want to stop using HabitQuest completely, they can delete everything and it's gone for good.
Something feel wrong?
If anything in HabitQuest makes you feel uncomfortable or upset, tell a grown-up you trust. A parent, a carer, a teacher — anyone.
You can also talk to Childline. They're free, they're private, and they're there any time of day or night:
